How do I find a key for Windows XP Pro?
My Dell Inspiron 2200 running XP Pro died over Xmas. Daughters boyfried repaired it, installed Windows XP Pro but it won't accept the key on the box it came with, guess he used a different version. He's also put on Microsoft Office 2007 (very puzzling!!!) and it keeps asking me for a key for that also. Help........
Your Dell was originally in stalled using product code X.
You have now installed with product key code Z but are entering the product key code X, which is obviously a mismatch.
If that MS Office-2007 has already been registered on another computer, then even if you have the correct product key code it will be classed as a pirate copy.
